Palazzo Grillo is an important place of the history of Genoa and the Old Town. It was built in 1545 by the will of Domenico Grillo and designed with the typical features of prestigious building. It preserves so well its original features that made it a symbol of the Genoese aristocracy of the sixteenth century. Over the last few decades, Palazzo Grillo has long been abandoned or used improperly, a shame for the beauty of the place. A sad destiny for this beautiful building, with frescoes and architectural works, such as the monumental staircase at the entrance, of great historical and artistic value. From 2011 started the restructuring by the public property to give back the palace to the city and to its former glory. The project ended with the achievement of the hotel, able to make the building live again into a daily routine.
Hotel Palazzo Grillo offers 25 rooms distinct in 6 types: Suite, Junior Suite, Deluxe Luxury, Deluxe, Superior and Classic. Each room is distinguished by a modern, comfortable and essential style with soft and plain design. You could choose among different sizes and various details, you always will find the style and atmosphere of Palazzo Grillo. The Suites and Junior Suites are the most representatives, these rooms are on the second noble floor with high ceilings and bright windows. You will find vaulted ceilings, frescoes, small lounges, slate portals and historical terracotta floors of the '500 . In these rooms, the furniture maintain the simple style with modern design features and vintage touches which enhance their beauty. Refinement without ostentation. The two Deluxe Luxury rooms have features with historic details that are skillfully renovated: the authentic wooden ceilings, historic floors and the remains of an altar. The Deluxe offer different views and size, with also a possibility to accommodate families, while the Superior and Classic rooms give a compact space with the comforts and beauty of staying in a historical place.
THE BREAKFAST
You cannot lose the breakfast of Palazzo Grillo! A cozy, intimate room, with warm colors and natural light. Two large buffet tables with natural products, selected, prepared and cooked with care. You find hot and cold dishes, sweet and savory, selection of Italian and Ligurian typical products and in addition international recipes to satisfy all tastes. Enough space for the fruit, the vegetables and natural products. You must absolutely taste the HOMEMADE PRODUCTION of Palazzo Grillo, Ligurian focaccia, white bread or with cereals and seeds, cakes and our pride: pastries, such as baci di dama, pastry cookies with chocolate and jam, savoiardi, almond biscuits!
